چکیده

The capillary tube technique for assaying macrophage migration (1) has been widely used in studies on cellular immunity and has allowed a better understanding of lymphocyte-macrophage interaction associated with the expression of delayed hypersensitivity. The sensitive lymphocyte on exposure to specific antigen (2, 3) has been shown to produce a soluble effector molecule called migration inhibitory factor (MIF), 1 which has been characterized as an acidic glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 35,000-55,000 (4, 5). MIF inhibits the migration of the peritoneal macrophage, and recent evidence suggests that its primary biological function may be to activate macrophages (6). The mechanism of these actions is not understood.

P-162: Pathophysiology of Endometriosis is Interacted by MIF, its Receptor and COX-2

Background: Endometriosis is a gynecological disease associated with severe pelvic pain and infertility. Immunological changes that occur in patients with endometriosis include reduced natural killer cell and T-lymphocyte cytotoxicity in the peritoneal fluid, and an elevated number of activated macrophages. MIF via its receptor, CD74, initiates a signaling cascade that leads to proliferation an...

Mechanism of Action of Migration Inhibitory Factor (mif)

The initial interaction between migration inhibitory factor (MIF) and the guinea pig alveolar and peritoneal macrophage was studied. MIF-containing supernatants were generated from sensitized lymph node lymphocytes obtained from guinea pigs immunized with bovine gamma globulin in complete Freund's adjuvant. MIF-containing supernatants were markedly inhibitory for the migration of the peritoneal...

I-43: Expression Profile of Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor (MIF) Signaling Pathway as A Potentional Biomarker in Pathophysiology of Endometriosis

Background MIF via its receptor, CD74, initiates a signaling cascade that leads to proliferation and survival of cells. Also, MIF binding to CD74 activates p38 signaling pathways that lead to positive effect on the expression of COX-2. The aim of this study was to evaluate the gene expression profile of MIF, CD74 and COX-2 in normal, ectopic and eutopic endometrium during menstrual cycle. The e...

Application of Frequency Ratio, Weights of Evidence and Multi Influencing Factors models for groundwater potential mapping using GIS

Groundwater resource is a very important water resource that has stable temperature, clear, tidy and confident. In recent years, population growth, industrialize and need to food and water, have exposed the groundwater resource on the risk. Reduction of water resources is a main problem in throughout the world. In this research groundwater potential mapping was obtained in Norabad plain, Lorest...

Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor Is Involved in Ectopic Endometrial Tissue Growth and Peritoneal-Endometrial Tissue Interaction In Vivo: A Plausible Link to Endometriosis Development

Pelvic inflammation is a hallmark of endometriosis pathogenesis and a major cause of the disease's symptoms. Abnormal immune and inflammatory changes may not only contribute to endometriosis-major symptoms, but also contribute to ectopic endometrial tissue growth and endometriosis development. A major pro-inflammatory factors found elevated in peritoneal fluid of women with endometriosis and to...
